Program Description

We hope you will join us for the twentieth anniversary of the Controversies and Advances in the Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease symposium! The scientific program will offer realistic views on many controversial issues in cardiovascular disease today. Sessions will include a combination of lectures, debates, and discussions led by a faculty of internationally known leaders who will share their knowledge and experiences with complex and controversial cases.  The detailed program will be available online in the coming months.

Target Audience

This conference is designed for cardiologists, cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons, interventional cardiologists, perfusionists, ICU nurses, technicians and those involved in the diagnosis, treatment and care of individuals with controversial and complex cases of cardiac disease.


Cedars-Sinai Employee Registration

Cedars-Sinai employees can register for the “Controversies” symposium in the following two ways:

NO CME/CE CREDIT NEEDED
If no CME/CEU credit is needed, you may register as a complimentary attendee using the complimentary registration form.

CME/CE CREDIT NEEDED
To receive CME/CEU credit for attending the symposium, you must pay the reduced fee of $150 for Cedars-Sinai employees. Register here for CME/CE Credits.


CME/CE Accreditation & Designation

The following information will be updated when the program is finalized.

Physicians:
Promedica International is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™

Nurses:
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #8495.

Perfusionists:
Category 1 CEUs for perfusionists will be applied for with The American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS):
CCI does not approve CEUs directly, however CCI will accept CEUs that have already been approved by accredited sponsors of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). RCIS attendees will claim the physician certificate option when completing the online evaluation and can use that certificate to claim CEUs from CCI. Click for more information from CCI.

ABIM MOC Accreditation:

CME-MOC_badge-graphicSuccessful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to [TBD] Medical Knowledge MOC points and Patient Safety MOC credits in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Refunds

All cancellations must be submitted in writing and refunds will be subject to a $100 administration charge.  Cancellations cannot be accepted over the telephone.  Requests for cancellation must be submitted no less than 45 days from the conference date.
