Target Audience
This symposium is designed for vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons, interventional radiologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, perfusionists, radiologic technologists, and other health care professionals involved in the care and treatment of patients with aortic diseases.
Educational Objectives
After attending the program, the attendees should be able to:
Analyze contemporary treatment options for valvular heart disease, including transcatheter and robotic approaches for aortic stenosis, mitral valve pathology, and complex coronary artery disease.
Compare surgical techniques for aortic root and ascending aortic pathology, including Ross procedures, valve-sparing operations, and minimally invasive approaches in diverse patient populations.
Discuss optimal strategies for aortic arch surgery, including frozen elephant trunk techniques, cerebral protection methods, and management of pseudoaneurysms and dissections.
Evaluate precision medicine approaches and advanced diagnostic tools for thoracic aortic disease, including genetic testing, biomechanical analysis, and gender-specific risk assessment.
Examine evidence-based management strategies for acute aortic dissections, including surgical extent, hybrid techniques, and advanced imaging modalities for risk stratification.
Review current clinical trial data and evidence across the spectrum of thoracic aortic disease to inform evidence-based surgical decision-making.
Explore the applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in aortic disease diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical techniques, and risk prediction.
Discuss contemporary approaches to descending thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms, including endovascular techniques, hybrid repairs, neuromonitoring, and genetic considerations.
Assess emerging research and clinical innovations in cardiac and vascular surgery through curated abstract presentations.
