Promedica International CME seeks to improve the quality of heath care worldwide by developing, accrediting and promoting educational initiatives in accordance with the high standards of the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

Judie Vivian

Judie Vivian co-founded Promedica International CME in 1985 in response to the need for advanced continuing medical education amongst senior cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons. Prior to founding the company, Ms Vivian was Vice President for Global Marketing and Sales for Baxter Edwards Laboratories Cardiovascular and Cardiology markets worldwide.

For more than twenty years, Promedica International CME has successfully organized over 200 physician education activities, including live procedure teleconferences from sites worldwide, hands-on animal laboratories and major international symposia. Ms. Vivian’s experience in the detailed logistics required for such programs has been invaluable. The success of these programs has made Promedica International one of the best medical education companies and has attracted a first class team of executive managers expanding the company’s services to all medical specialties.

Ms. Vivian has a BSc Honors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Bioengineering, from the University of Sussex and a Post Graduate Degree in Education from Nottingham University, UK.

Laurel Steigerwald
Executive Vice President Education

Laurel Steigerwald came to Promedica in 1998 from Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, where she was the Conference Coordinator in the Continuing Medical Education Department. Laurel has been involved in CME for over 25 years, and since coming to Promedica she has been instrumental in helping Promedica earn and maintain full accreditation by the ACCME.

Ms. Steigerwald's expertise in medical meeting planning has contributed to the successful development and implementation of over 150 medical conferences at Promedica, expanding into specialties including cardiology, interventional cardiology, internal medicine, family practice, hematology/oncology, dentistry, endocrinology, ophthalmology and orthopedics.

Ms. Steigerwald has a BA in Liberal Arts from San Diego State University.

Isabelle Villaud
European Manager

Isabelle Villaud, a team member since 1994, represents Promedica abroad as our European Manager based in Paris. Ms. Villaud brings with her valuable experience coordinating high profile international conferences.

Ms. Villaud has traveled extensively in North America, South America, Europe and Asia and is fluent in four languages. Because of her familiarity with the international forum, Ms. Villaud continues to be an integral part of Promedica’s production of international congresses.

Ms. Villaud has a BA from the Sorbonne University in Paris.

Jeanette Robertson
Comtroller

Jeanette Robertson joined the Promedica International CME team in 2002. She brings financial organization and reporting, asset management and planning. With over thirty years in business and financial management, Ms. Robertson has a sound basis for analyzing and understanding the financial aspect of many industries. Her career encompasses over 15 years in public accounting and over 14 years in private industry. Her private industry experience concentrated in executive financial management in both the manufacturing and real estate development and construction management industries. Currently she serves as a public accountant and has broadened her knowledge to the legal, medical and educational professions, as well as non-profit foundations, retail and wholesale businesses.

Ms. Robertson has a BA in Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting from California State University Fullerton.

Kimberlie Stephens
Symposia/Communication Manager

Kimberlie Stephens joined the Promedica International CME team in 2002. She has since worked to increase the efficiency and consistency of our data management and communication systems.

Ms. Stephens high level communication skills, in conjunction with her knowledge of the internet have contributed to the improvement of Promedica International CME's web presence. She continues to incorporate new technology into Promedica International CME's business practices, ultimately resulting in increased service and convenience for our customers.

Ms. Stephens has a BA Honors Degree in Communication from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Michelle R. Gherardi
Symposia Manager

Michelle R. Gherardi joined the Promedica International CME team in 2008 to lead the management and organization our national symposia. With a distinguished 10-year history in meeting and event planning, Ms. Gherardi contributes her energetic and effective management skills to coordinating and strategizing with clients to create unique educational experiences.

Prior to joining the Promedica team, Michelle's wide-ranging experience encompassed business development and meeting implementation in the fields of liberal arts, homeland security, optometry and emergency medicine. She has also been heavily involved with grant writing for philanthropic endeavors.

Rebecca Law
Associate Symposia Manager

Rebecca Law joined the Promedica International CME team in 2005 and has since assisted in the planning, promotion and implementation of over 20 CME symposia.

Ms. Law maintains ongoing communication with our valued customers, esteemed faculties and generous sponsors to ensure the best possible educational event for all concerned.

In addition to her involvement with our live CME symposia, Ms. Law also manages our website and contributes her support to the development and production of enduring materials and online accreditation.

Rebecca has a BA degree in Biological Anthropology from San Francisco State University.

Claire Lewis
Symposia Assistant

Claire Lewis joined the Promedica International CME team in 2007. Ms. Lewis is usually the first member of our team to greet your telephone and Internet queries with her professional and gracious customer service.

Claire has diverse skills in organizational implementation and contributes significantly to the efficiency and execution of our overall CME program. Her focus on effective interpersonal communication and commitment to excellence makes her an asset to our symposia.

Claire has a BA degree in Communication from The University of California, Santa Barbara, with a minor in Art History.
