We are proud to be celebrating the seventeenth annual Controversies and Advances in the Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease symposium! The two-day scientific program will offer realistic views on many controversial issues in cardiovascular disease today. Sessions will include a combination of lectures, debates, and roundtable discussions. A faculty of internationally known leaders has been invited to share their knowledge and experiences with complex and controversial cases.

Target Audience
This conference is designed for cardiologists, cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons, interventional cardiologists, perfusionists, ICU nurses, technicians and those involved in the diagnosis, treatment and care of individuals with controversial and complex cases of cardiac disease.

CME Accreditation & Designation

Promedica International is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Promedica International designates this live activity for a maximum of 16 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing CEs

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #8495 for 16 Contact Hours.

Perfusion CEs

The American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) has approved a total of 19.2 Category 1 CEUs for perfusionists for Thursday, November 16 (10.1), and Friday, November 17 (9.1).

ABIM MOC Accreditation

CME-MOC_badge-graphicSuccessful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 16 Medical Knowledge MOC points and Patient Safety MOC credits in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Cedars-Sinai Employee Registration
Cedars-Sinai employees can register for the “Controversies” symposium in the following two ways:

  1. NO CME/CEU CREDIT NEEDED
    If no CME/CEU credit is needed, you may register as a complimentary attendee using the complimentary registration form.
  2. CME/CEU CREDIT
    To receive CME/CEU credit for attending the symposium, you must pay the reduced fee of $150 for Cedars-Sinai employees.  You can pay for your registration online.

Currently, all guest room rates are subject to a 14% room occupancy tax, and a 6.7% City of Beverly Hills tax (comprised of a 5% municipal surcharge and 1.7% occupancy surcharge).  All taxes and service charges are subject to change at any time without notice.  Please note: Cancellations received within 14 days of the arrival date listed below will be charged the full reservation’s room and tax.

Check in time is 3:00 pm and checkout time is 12:00 pm (noon).

Refunds
All cancellations must be submitted in writing and refunds will be subject to a $100 administration charge.  Cancellations cannot be accepted over the telephone.  Refunds will not be available after October 7, 2017.
